Programs for Educators

Greater Good Science Center offers two flagship programs designed to empower educators to foster meaningful connections and inspire lasting change within schools.

Greater Good Educators Program

The Greater Good Educators Program provides educators an opportunity to explore the science and practical application of individual and collective well-being, helping to support the development of schools and classrooms where both students and adults thrive.

As part of the program, educators engage with three self-paced learning modules focused on key well-being topics, and implement a practice of their choice in their classroom or school. Educators also join a small, supportive online community, meeting synchronously to reflect on module content, share experiences, and learn from one another’s insights and questions.

Greater Good Schools Program

The Greater Good Schools Program includes a Summer Institute at UC Berkeley, bringing school teams from around the world together to reimagine schools that nurture the well-being of students and adults. Participating teams will work collaboratively to envision and design sustainable, supportive environments, and will continue to engage in an ongoing community of practice throughout the school year, receiving sustained support as they implement their ideas.

“We scientists need partnerships with organizations like the GGSC because we’re not experts in reaching loads of people on a regular basis. Providing sustained delivery of content that’s thoughtful, not over-the-top, appropriately measured, and empirically grounded—that’s what the GGSC does better than anybody.”

Barbara Fredrickson, Ph.D., Kenan Distinguished Professor of Psychology, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
