Planned gifts provide the resources that create extraordinary opportunities and shape our future. Planned gifts can support undergraduate and graduate fellowships, research, infrastructure, outreach to vulnerable populations, and other GGSC priorities.

A planned gift may enable you to make a more significant gift than you thought possible while at the same time allowing you to achieve your financial, philanthropic, and estate planning goals. To that end, there are a myriad of easy giving options from which you can choose—from naming us as a beneficiary in your will to a more complex trust arrangement.

A memorial gift can help perpetuate the values and ideals that define a loved one’s life. Honorary gifts commemorate a significant event or an exceptional person who is still living. Families of those so honored will be notified of your gift if you provide contact information. The amount of your gift, however, remains private.

Endowment gifts provide lasting impact by generating income that supports our initiatives for years to come, ensuring the sustainability and continued growth of the Greater Good Science Center. Endowments may be named, directed to a specific purpose, and comprised of various types of assets. Please contact Betsy Cardis at (510) 910-8831 or bcardis@berkeley.edu to discuss your donation.

As part of UC Berkeley, the Greater Good Science Center welcomes gifts from Donor Advised Funds (DAFs). Please visit your DAF's website to submit your gift recommendation. If you see a selection of UC Berkeley options listed on your DAF's site:

• Search for "UC Berkeley Foundation" or by the EIN 94-6090626. If you don't see an option for the program, school or college you wish to support, don't worry. Your gift will be directed as you instruct in the text field provided on your DAF's grant recommendation form.

Here is some additional key information you'll need to provide:

• The amount of your gift
• The name of the particular campus fund or campus unit that you'd like to support (please be as specific as possible)
• Checks must be made payable to the UC Berkeley Foundation and mailed to the address below:
