April 15, 2024
We are thrilled to share that the CalHOPE Student Support Partnership between UC Berkeley and the Sacramento County Office of Education has been selected to receive the prestigious 2023-2024 Chancellor’s Campus-Community Partnership Award.
Background: The UC Berkeley Chancellor’s Awards for Public Service honor individuals and groups for their exceptional commitment to advancing social change through public service, a pillar of the university’s public mission. The Campus-Community Partnership Award recognizes campus-community partnerships and University-sponsored programs that improve the quality of life in our community.
Criteria: Awardees demonstrate meaningful involvement by various segments of the campus, effort toward an important need outside of campus, meaningful impacts on the individuals and/or communities served, and evidence of a true partnership, with the campus and community partners each having meaningful roles.
The GGSC honorees are: Jason Marsh, Vicki Zakrzewski, Amy Eva, Margaret Golden, and Mariah Flynn. Personnel from Sacramento County Office of Education, the School of Social Welfare, and University Extension, as well as all of the California County Superintendents, will also be honored.
A hearty congratulations to everyone! We are truly amazed by the depth and accomplishments of our partnership and extremely honored by this recognition. We look forward to all of the next steps we will take together!
