The GGSC is Hiring a Bridging Differences Content & Engagement Manager!

April 21, 2025

The Greater Good Science Center at UC Berkeley (GGSC) is seeking a creative and strategic Content & Engagement Manager to develop, produce, and help disseminate multimedia resources that offer science-based strategies for dialogue and connection across lines of faith, race and ethnicity, politics, socioeconomic status, and more, with a particular focus on engaging leaders and practitioners across sectors.

Reporting to the Bridging Differences Program Director, the Content & Engagement Manager will play a central role in developing and producing short-form documentary-style videos, social media content, webinars, newsletters, and magazine articles for Greater Good, the GGSC’s award-winning online magazine, among other science-backed resources. A key priority for this role will be guiding the expansion of the Bridging Differences Playbook, a widely used resource now downloaded more than 300,000 times, drawing on input from practitioners and researchers. This role also involves the development of a new online hub to make bridging differences content more accessible and actionable.
This is a full-time (100% time) staff position, providing UC Berkeley’s robust benefits package. It will start with a two-year contract, with the goal of extending well beyond that once additional funding is secured. Remote or hybrid-remote working arrangements are possible.

About the Greater Good Science Center

The Greater Good Science Center at UC Berkeley (GGSC) studies the psychology, sociology, and neuroscience of well-being and teaches skills that foster a thriving, resilient, and compassionate society. Over more than two decades, the GGSC has provided a bridge between scientists and the public, turning research findings into practical resources that support well-being for all. Since its founding, the Center has highlighted the importance of building social connection not only within communities but across groups, offering practical strategies for overcoming bias and prejudice, expanding one’s circle of care, and promoting diversity, inclusion, and belonging.

About the GGSC’s Bridging Differences Program

The GGSC’s Bridging Differences program mixes science and storytelling to help address one of the most urgent issues of our time: political and cultural polarization. Drawing on leading science and best practices from the field, the program highlights key research-based principles for fostering meaningful dialogue, relationships, and understanding across group lines, including lines of faith, race and ethnicity, politics, socioeconomic status, and more. It has disseminated these findings via articles, videos, an online course, a Bridging Differences Playbook, and other multimedia resources that have reached more than seven million people worldwide. Building on this work, it has trained leaders and practitioners from different sectors in key skills and strategies for bridge-building, supporting their efforts to foster connection and understanding across a variety of contexts—from community initiatives to higher education, philanthropy, and national service programs.
