The Art and Science of Contemplative Teaching and Learning

Annual symposium to explore different approaches that support the development of contemplative attention, insight, emotional self-regulation, empathy, compassion and action

This program features interactive workshops where attendees can explore contemplative education through mindfulness, yoga, indigenous ways of knowing, dance, storytelling, poetry, music and drawing. The event also includes dialogue and sharing among educators, administrators, researchers and other present with the goal of re-imagining classrooms as spaces that attend to diverse ways of knowing, multiculturalism and social justice.

Attendees will:
  -Examine the emerging field of contemplative teaching and learning;
  -Experience a variety of contemplative approaches that can enrich learning in K-12 settings
  -Support the development of contemplative approaches in schools
