Educating Mindful Lawyers: The Meditative Perspective

The inaugural event of a new speaker series created by the Berkeley Initiative for Mindfulness in Law which will discuss a meditative perspective on law practices, institutions, teachings and doctrinal innovation.


This is not a Greater Good event.

The event, Educating Mindful Lawyers: The Meditative Perspective, will begin with an introduction from Charles Halpern, the director of The Berkeley Initiative, Founder of the Center of Law and Social Policy and Founding Dean of City University of New York Law School.  Norman Fischer, the principal presenter, who is also the former Abbot of the San Francisco Zen Center and Facilitator of the Bay Area Working Group on Law and Meditation will then discuss how lawyers can use meditation to cultivate a clarity of vision. Finally, the event will end with a talk about a meditative perspective of practicing at a law firm and a time for discussion.
