The Tariq Khamisa Foundation is a San Diego based organization that was founded out of a family’s act of forgiveness, empathy, compassion, and moral courage. The goal for the Inspiring Grace parenting group is to build resiliency among parents and their children in the areas of forgiveness, love, reliability, purpose, and community connections to help balance the risk factors that may be present in the home and in the North Lawndale and surrounding communities. Inspiring Grace focuses on connectedness: parent to child, child to parent, family to community. Inspiring Grace does not assume that every household struggles in teaching these core relational elements. Instead, Inspiring Grace focuses on the enhancement of parenting skills versus addressing deficits or gaps.
