The Compassionate Instinct is OUT!

January 14, 2010

We're thrilled to announce that Greater Good's first book, The Compassionate Instinct, is now hitting bookstores nationwide!

The Compassionate Instinct features some of the best articles published in Greater Good magazine over the past five years, including contributions from Daniel Goleman, Steven Pinker, and Desmond Tutu. These are truly cutting-edge essays by some of the world's leading authorities on the science of compassion, happiness, and altruism.

We've been gratified to see the book strike a chord with readers so far. Seed magazine is featuring it as one of its Books to Read Now, the Huffington Post gave it this nice review, and The San Francisco Chronicle selected it as a notable book for January.

And for those of you in the Bay Area, please come out to help us celebrate the book's release. Join one of my co-editors on the book, GG Contributing Editor Jeremy Adam Smith, for this event on January 25th at Booksmith in San Francisco, and/or come see me share the stage with the GGSC's Christine Carter to talk about TCI and Christine's new book, Raising Happiness, on February 10th, also at Booksmith.

Thanks so much for your support. This book would not have happened without dedicated readers like you.
