Searching for a Chief Happiness Officer
March 16, 2010
Check out this interview with the Greater Good Science Center's Senior Advisor, Lee Hwang, on the blog Asian American Giving. Lee discusses his work with the GGSC and the Quality of Life Foundation, of which he's executive director, mentioning the foundation's new tree planting program and its search for a Chief Happiness Officer, who will be charged with "strategic planning, building partnerships with businesses, other nonprofits, and federal, state, and local public agencies (including parks and schools), and planning and coordination of public tree planting events."
The foundation's accepting applications for the Chief Happiness Officer position through Friday, March 26; the desired start date is April 2010. Click here to learn more about the position.
The Quality of Life Foundation has also provided a generous grant to help fund the GGSC's Science of a Meaningful Life seminar series. Two great events in the series are coming up soon: an April 9th seminar with Dacher Keltner and Barbara Fredrickson, "Using Positive Psychology to Build Position Emotions," and a May 15th seminar with Frederic Luskin and Jack Kornfield, "The Science and Practice of Forgiveness."
